FUNCTIONAL PATHOLOGY TESTING

Shine a light on your current health with specific and effective tests

Pathology testing?

WHAT IS FUNCTIONAL

Functional Pathology Testing is a fancy name for tests that focus on how well your body is functioning, as opposed to clinical testing for disease states.

This allows us to pinpoint health imbalances before they become more serious, and use a rebalancing and preventative approach for your short and long term healthcare. Functional tests can help highlight specific biochemical imbalances, uncover or confirm the cause of conditions and symptoms, and give an accurate guide for treatment protocols. Samples of blood, urine, saliva, hair or stool may be used.

OUR TESTS

One of the most important things we can do in natural healthcare is focus our efforts on returning balance to our internal and external environments, so our bodies can self-regulate and self-heal, which they are innately designed to do.

To help us restore this balance, Inner Harmony utilises three broad spectrum, extensive and highly accurate functional tests you can order directly online.

Please note: If you wish to get test recommendations and have access to a wider range of functional testing options, please book in a full consultation first under the Kick-Starter package.

Tired but wired? Trouble sleeping? Four emotional seasons in one day? It might be time to test your stress and measure your hormonal makeup with the DUTCH Complete Hormone Test.

What is a DUTCH Complete Hormone Profile?

One of the most comprehensive adrenal and reproductive hormone tests available for both men and women, the DUTCH is a urine test that is dried on collection (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones). Hormones measured include Cortisol, Cortisone, Creatine, Melatonin, Progesterone, Androgens and Estrogen and Neurotransmitter metabolites. Results based on cortisol patterns give insight into stress loading and cortisol response, which can be compared to normal diurnal patterns to give a diagnosis.

A marker for oxidative damage to DNA named 80HdG and B-Complex Vitamin markers are also measured for a comprehensive and holistic picture of your current health.

Optional extra for women:

Ladies, if you’re generally feeling “out of whack” with your menstrual cycles and your moods are all over the show throughout your cycle then add “Cycle Mapping” to your DUTCH test. The Cycle Mapping tests your reproductive hormonal changes throughout your menstrual cycle with an in-depth measure of Estradiol, Estrone, a-pregnanediol and b-Pregnanediol, which pinpoint your cycle imbalances and give us an accurate picture of your complete hormonal health.

ORGANIX COMPREHENSIVE PROFILE

From Genova Diagnostics

Stress, depression, anxiety, digestive imbalances, weight issues? Worried about toxin exposure or addiction problems? Consider measuring your organic acids with an organics acid test.

What is the Organic Acids Metabolic Profile?

This extensive nutritional organic acids test doesn’t measure absolute values of nutrients, instead it gives you information on metabolic products (organic acids) and the pathways of your body’s cellular metabolic processes, energy production, detoxification, neurotransmitter breakdown, and intestinal microbial activity.

Identifying these metabolic blocks that can be treated nutritionally make it a simpler and accurate process to tailor solutions that will give you the best response to treatment.

This kind of test can reveal what’s behind imbalances, namely the organic acids neurotransmitter metabolites: the primary metabolite of dopamine, norepinephrine and serotonin. People with an imbalance in these neurotransmitters may experience symptoms such as: fatigue, low motivation, depression, addiction issues and sleep imbalances and have difficulty coping with stress.

CDSA COMPREHENSIVE DIGESTIVE STOOL ANALYSIS

From Nutripath

Did you know your gastrointestinal tract is known as your second brain? That’s because if it’s out of balance it will impact the entire body and is closely linked to many mental health and nervous system imbalances. So if your health and wellbeing is under par, it could have something to do with your digestive health.

The gastrointestinal tract functions include digesting and absorbing important nutrients for the body’s growth and function, acting as a barrier to keep harmful solutes, luminal antigens and microorganisms from entering the blood, and eliminating waste products and toxins. Did you know approximately 80% of our Immune system is housed in the gut?

Pretty important to keep it healthy, right? And you can, with Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis (CDSA).

What is Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis?

It’s an advanced non-invasive diagnostic tool that combines a large number of tests to give you a comprehensive picture of your gut health. It looks at digestion, metabolism, absorption and metabolic markers, pancreatic function, the balance of beneficial bacteria and the presence of pathological bacteria, yeast and parasites.

The results will give you information about:

  • Macroscopic and microscopic description

  • Microbiome (the human GI tract houses more than 1,000 species of microbial organisms, almost all of them bacteria, collectively known as the microbiome)

  • Metabolic (a series of biomarkers that indicate the microbial production of beneficial molecules)

  • Gut ecosystem - bacteriology, fungal mycology and parasitic infections, a listing of both commensal and additional bacteria using visual detection culture and Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) technology.

What happens next?

Once we identify what is going on in your gastrointestinal tract, we can make recommendations to help bring it back to full function with support, advice and herbal and nutritional medicine.

In addition the faecal multiplex RT-PCR profile is capable of rapid, specific and sensitive detection of the bacterial and parasitic pathogens most commonly responsible for causing infectious gastroenteritis that may otherwise go undetected by traditional microbiological techniques.

The PCR (polymerase chain reaction) testing is based on a molecular method of DNA faecal screening of 10 individual parasites and bacterial organisms, rather than detection of parasites based on examination of stool under a microscope. This makes it a more accurate technique and completes a comprehensive review of gastrointestinal health.
